The Police are reuniting and performing tonight.

This is huge.

Will they tour? (we hope)

Will they fight? (probably)

Will they rock? (could they do anything else?)

Oh yeah, there's also an awards show tonight.

The Grammys recognize the recognizable in music with all the history of the Oscars, but with cooler clothes and a stronger emphasis on the five-second broadcast delay.

So I'd thought I'd weigh in on my picks to win in few categories (basically, the ones I'm interested in).

Record of the Year: Gnarls Barkley will take this one with "Crazy." It beats out the offerings by Mary J. Blige, Dixie Chicks, James Blunt and Corinne Bailey Rae. The Chicks could win with "Not Ready To Make Nice;" sometimes the awards like those "we're not afraid to tick you off" songs. But "Crazy" is just too good. I admit to owning the James Blunt album, but I'm sick of that song. You know which one I'm talking about.

Album Of The Year: The odds are on Rick Rubin getting a slice of this one. He produced the Dixie Chicks, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and a piece of Justin Timberlake's album. John Mayer and Gnarls Barkley round out the category. My money is on Gnarls Barkley. I can't wait to see what they're wearing.

Song Of The Year: The Dixie Chicks take this one with "Not Ready To Make Nice."

Best New Artist: Carrie Underwood. She gearing up for a match with Kelly Clarkson for most-respected former Idol.

Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal: Here we have Death Cab For Cutie, Keane, The Black Eyed Peas, The Fray and The Pussycat Dolls. The question is will the voters go safe (Fray, Peas), indie (Death Cab), lesser-known (Keane) or dumb (Dolls). I'd like to see Keane win, but I think they'll go safe.

Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal: A strong category. Coldplay, Raconteurs, The Fray, U2 & Green Day and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Well, strong and The Fray. I'm hoping Coldplay lands a Grammy off "X&Y," but "Steady As She Goes" by The Raconteurs is a great song. U2 & Green Day lose points for a cover. I'm good with Coldplay or The Raconteurs.

Best Rock Album: "Broken Boy Soldiers" by The Raconteurs.

Best Alternative Music Album: "St. Elswhere" by Gnarls Barkley could easily walk away with this one, and I think they will. But I would like to see Thom Yorke win this one.

Best R&B Album: Mary J. Blige takes this one.

Best Rap Album: "Release Therapy" by Ludacris. If he wins, we can say we've got a Grammy winner coming to town.
