They were supposed to save rock 'n' roll.

I don't know if they did, but the Artic Monkeys have won the Mercury Prize. The prize is awarded by the people of the planey Mercury (it is actually still a planet, for now) based on which album the little green men like best.

Or maybe it's the best British or Irish album of the year. I get them confused. Go here for more -- http://www.nationwidemercurys.com/.
The group's album "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" won the $38,000 prize.

I personally would have voted for Editors, but they didn't ask me.
